Angels’ Mike Trout shares the secret to his home run streak

Mike Trout is heating up, and the rest of baseball might want to look out.

The Los Angeles Angels superstar has homered in three consecutive games after a slow start to the season.

And even worse for the opposition, Trout knows exactly how he’s doing it.

“I don’t think it’s mechanics, I think it’s keeping the head still,” Trout told MLB.com. “When it sways back and forward the ball starts moving, so I’m just trying to keep it simple. When the head is still, I see everything, and the swing is right.”

Angels manager Ron Washington is enjoying having an up-close seat to a heating-up Trout, especially after he used to deal with trying to get Trout out when he was the Rangers manager.

“It’s Mike Trout,” Washington told MLB.com. “It will get better. The more he sees pitches, the better it’s going to get. I’m not worried about Mike. As long as we can keep him on the field and keep his presence around here, he’s going to be Mike.”

Trout’s Saturday home run came on a cutter over the plate off Cleveland’s Tanner Bibee. Trout had seen 10 pitches in his previous at bat against the right-hander.

“I saw everything he had,” Trout said. “I was going up there trying to put a good swing on the ball and got a pitch to hit.”

And with a still head, Trout isn’t missing.
