Julian Reese, the former Maryland star, is signing with the Lakers for Summer League after going undrafted in the NBA Draft this week.
Reese, who is the younger brother of Sky star Angel Reese, spent four years at Maryland before leaving after this past season. Reese’s mother, also named Angel Reese, confirmed the news on social media.

The 21-year-old Reese joins a Lakers Summer League that is expected to include Bronny James and, most likely, Dalton Knecht. The team will play its first game on July 10 against the Mavericks and No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg, while also playing the Celtics, Clippers, and Pelicans.

Reese was an extremely durable player at Maryland, and after coming off the bench as a freshman, he started in all but one game in his final three seasons. Last year, Reese teamed up with Derik Queen to form a dynamic frontcourt as part of the Terrapins’ strong starting five.
The forward led Maryland in rebounds alongside Queen last year, and his 1.5 blocks were also the most on the team.
