Amon-Ra St. Brown’s brother finds new home in NFC West

The brother of Detroit Lions All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has found a new NFL home.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers signed receiver Equanimeous St. Brown to a one-year deal.

“49ers have signed WR Equanimeous St. Brown to a one-year deal and released WR Andy Isabella,” Schefter wrote on X.

St. Brown had a workout with the 49ers on July 31 after being released by the team on July 22, and two weeks after being let go, he re-signed with San Francisco to replace Andy Isabella, who recently got injured in practice and has since been cut.

The veteran receiver has played in just nine games over the last two seasons, but in 2022 with the Chicago Bears, St. Brown hauled in 21 receptions for 323 yards and one touchdown in 17 games.

St. Brown started his career with the Green Bay Packers in 2018 and spent four years in Green Bay. The 28-year-old last appeared in a regular-season game with the New Orleans Saints in 2024

With the 49ers needing some extra help in the receiving room and on special teams, St. Brown has a chance to crack the 53-man roster. San Francisco also signed Robbie Chosen on Monday, so general manager John Lynch is loading up on receivers ahead of the preseason.
