The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics are slated to face off on Friday, October 24, inside Madison Square Garden, streaming exclusively on Prime Video. This will mark the first-ever game broadcast through NBA on Prime, following the league’s new 11-season media rights deal with Amazon.
Amazon Prime has officially announced its broadcast team for the historic debut. Ian Eagle will serve as the play-by-play announcer, Stan Van Gundy will be the lead analyst, and Cassidy Hubbarth will handle sideline reporting duties.
Eagle brings more than 30 years of experience across multiple sports, having called games for the Brooklyn Nets and select national broadcasts on TNT. Van Gundy began his broadcasting career in 2018 with ESPN before joining TNT and now Amazon Prime Video. Prior to his work behind the mic, Van Gundy spent over a decade coaching at both the NBA and NCAA levels.
Cassidy Hubbarth joins Prime Video after 15 years at ESPN, where she earned widespread respect from her colleagues and around the league. During her tenure, Hubbarth hosted a range of shows, including First Take, NBA Tonight, Inside the NBA, and SportsCenter. As a trailblazer for women in sports broadcasting, Hubbarth continues to shine as one of the industry’s most influential voices.
The trio will cover a highly anticipated matchup between the Knicks and Celtics — a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference semifinals, when New York stunned Boston in six games. The series’ first two contests were instant classics, featuring the Knicks overcoming back-to-back 20-point deficits to take a commanding lead.
This time, Boston will look for revenge without several familiar faces, including Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and a still-recovering Jayson Tatum. Led by Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard, the Celtics aim to prove they remain legitimate contenders in the East.
Whether it’s the on-court action or the historic debut of NBA on Prime, this matchup promises to deliver plenty of excitement.
