Alim McNeill injury update: Latest news on Lions DT’s status in Week 15 game

The Detroit Lions are losing defenders to injury left and right during the Week 15 game against the Buffalo Bills, and now we can potentially add defensive lineman Alim McNeill to the list.

In the second quarter, the Lions lost two cornerbacks in Carlton Davis and Khalil Dorsey, both of whom have been ruled out. Davis suffered a jaw injury that had him questionable before he was downgraded to out, and Dorsey suffered a gruesome ankle injury that will end his season.

Then, in the third quarter, McNeill got banged up and went into the blue medical tent after making his way to the sideline. He was clearly frustrated, but the extent of the injury remains unknown as of this writing.

Here’s the latest update on McNeill’s status.

UPDATE: The CBS broadcast has revealed that McNeill has a right knee injury and he has already been ruled out for the rest of the game.

The fact that McNeill needed a cart and was ruled out so quickly is a bad sign. We can only hope he hasn’t suffered a serious injury. Here’s a look at the vide of the play in which McNeill got hurt.

END OF UPDATE

We don’t have a designation or specific injury for McNeill, but the cart was brought out on the sideline to take McNeill to the back, which is bad news.

We’ll update this page when more information becomes available.
