Alexander Isak’s first words as a Liverpool player after deal completed

Liverpool have finally gotten their man, as a £125m deal has been agreed with Newcastle for their star player, Alexander Isak.

Isak, who had refused to play for Newcastle, has signed a deal until 2031 with the reigning Premier League champions.

The Swedish international spoke his first words as a Liverpool player after his move was finalized on deadline day.

What did Isak say about joining Liverpool?

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Isak said, “I feel amazing. It’s been a long journey to get here.

“But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.”

The 25-year-old has cemented himself as one of the best Premier League forwards, scoring 23 goals last season, finishing just behind new teammate Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot standings.

Isak continued, “I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there.

I think I have a lot to give, I think I have a lot to improve. I’m a striker, but I always want to give as much as possible to the team, mainly goals, but much more than that as well.

“I want to win everything.”

Isak joins a star-studded Liverpool attack, with Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, and Florian Wirtz headlining the bunch.
