Adam Scott majors timeline: Here’s his last major win, U.S. Open history and more

Adam Scott has been playing professional golf in the United States since 2000. He is one of the more experienced participants on the PGA Tour, yet he still consistently registers competitive scores.

Scott was born in Adelaide, Australia in 1980 and has spent more time playing golf professionally than he hasn’t with a 25-year pro career. Scott has 32 wins under his belt, but only one of them has come at a golf major. He won the 2013 Masters in a playoff against Angel Cabrera.

Scott has 14 wins on the PGA Tour, 11 European Tour wins, four Asian Tour wins and six wins on the PGA Tour of Australasia. He is ranked as the 42nd best golfer in the world, per the OWGR.

Has Adam Scott won a major?

Yes, Scott first appeared in a golf major in 2000 at The Open Championship. He won his first and only major at the 2013 Masters. While there have been plenty of times that Scott missed the cut at a major, he has played in every golf major held since 2002.

Adam Scott U.S. Open history

Scott first played at the U.S. Open in 2002. It was a rough start at the major for him as he missed the cut in his first three U.S. Opens. His best result at the major came in 2015 when he finished tied for fourth. Overall, Scott has competed in 24 U.S. Opens and has made the cut in 15 of them.

Adam Scott PGA Championship history

The PGA Championship was the second of the four golf majors that Scott played. He debuted at the 2000 U.S. Open, but he played in his first PGA Championship in 2001. Similar to the U.S. Open, he missed the cut his first time at the major. Scott has competed at 25 PGA Championships and has made the cut at 18 of them. His best finish was at the 2018 PGA Championship when he finished in third.

Adam Scott Masters history

Scott first competed at the Masters in 2002 and finished tied for ninth. It remained his best finish at any golf major until the 2006 Open Championship. Scott has competed at Augusta 24 times, making the cut 21 times. He missed the cut at the 2025 Masters for the first time in 14 years. 

Scott won the 2013 Masters in a playoff over Angel Cabrera. They both registered par on the first playoff hole, but then Scott’s three bested Cabrera’s four on the second to secure the Australian his first career green jacket.

Adam Scott Open Championship history

The Open Championship was the first golf major that Scott competed at. He made his first major appearance at the 2000 Open Championship but missed the cut. Scott’s best finish at the event so far was in 2012 when he finished second. Of his 24 appearances at the major, he made the cut 19 times.
