Aaron Gordon drops massive injury announcement after Nuggets force Game 7

The Denver Nuggets did it.

They won Game 6 on Thursday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, 119-107.

That means a do-or-die, winner-takes-all game 7 on Sunday in Oklahoma City with the winner advancing to the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

It was a strong showing on Thursday night as Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray (who was questionable with an illness) combined for 54 points with Christian Braun adding 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

The concerning part for Denver is the status of Aaron Gordon, who was spotted holding his hamstring late in the game on Thursday. Afterward, Nuggets coach David Adelman said there is “high” concern regarding Gordon’s injury.

But, the Nuggets forward spoke about it, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

“I feel OK. We’ll see. I’m going to start the recovery process now and make sure I’m getting ready for Game 7,” Gordon said.

Gordon scored just five points on Thursday while adding seven rebounds and seven assists in the win, but his status will be important in a crucial Game 7.

The Nuggets bench consists of smaller players such as Russell Westbrook, Julian Strawther and Peyton Watson, the only reserves to see playing time for Denver on Thursday.

However, the good news is that the Nuggets have Friday and Saturday off before Game 7 on Sunday, so an extra day could be a massive boost to Gordon as he tries to recover in time for the series finale.

The next 48 hours will be important for Gordon’s status.
