Manchester City star Ederson has been vital to the club’s incredible success since joining from Benfica in 2017.
The Brazilian has been Pep Guardiola’s No.1 goalkeeper during City’s impressive dominance in the Premier League and their first-ever UEFA Champions League title win in 2023.
However, since last summer, there has been several rumours of Ederson looking to move on from Manchester with reported offers from Saudi Arabia.
Ederson is currently on duty for Guardiola’s side at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States and the 31-year-old has rubbished transfer rumours of him leaving the Etihad Stadium.
“My future is here,” said Ederson. “Some friends send me a lot of news, but 99% is fake news. I understand you guys.
“You need the news to get a like on social media, or rant for the news. I understand, but there’s a lot of fake news around my name.”
Ederson’s stance is backed up by his consistency for Guardiola in recent years – with six EPL titles won – as the bedrock of City’s success.

“My head is here. It stays in the city. They give me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well.
“My mind is on staying at the club.”
What did Guardiola say about Ederson’s future at Man City?
Ederson, 31, is still one of the top keepers in world football, and he hasn’t shown any glaring signs of slowing down in his performances in the last season.
Guardiola looks set to continue with him in place for the 2025/26 season as he aims to take the Citizens back to the top of the Premier League and in Europe.

“I don’t know,” Guardiola said when asked about Ederson’s future.
“I am so pleased with what I’m seeing in the training sessions and he’s with us. He’s had a spectacular decade with us and his contribution has been massive in many aspects.”
Interestingly, there were reports of City showing interest in FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa. The Portugal international has attracted admiring glances from across Europe with impressive performance for club and country.
But, Costa has a £64m [$86.5m] release clause, and considering City’s transfer dealings so far this summer, they may look to address areas which need more attention than signing a new goalkeeper.
