Travis Kelce and Lil Wayne went head-to-head in the most unexpected way

Travis Kelce just became a winner, and it has nothing to do with football.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, just earned a spot in the horse racing winner’s circle – along with a group of music industry powerhouses, including rapper Lil’ Wayne – for the very first time this week.

The three-time Super Bowl winner bought a racehorse named Swift Delivery in August 2024. While we’d love to say that the horse’s name is an ode to his girlfriend of three years, pop star Taylor Swift, the horse already had its name when Kelce bought in. It was a pure coincidence.

On June 22, Swift Delivery proved to be worth the investment for Kelce, as it secured its third career win at Woodbine Racetrack in Ontario, according to “Paulick Report.”

Kelce owns the 4-year-old Kentucky-bred gelding, born in 2021, along with Team Valor International, and several other folks in the racing scene.

After attending the 2024 Kentucky Derby, Kelce talked about his desire to own a racehorse on his “New Heights” podcast.

“I had one of the best times ever at the Derby,” the NFL player told his brother, ESPN analyst and retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. “I was like, ‘Man, it would be so fun to get involved and see one of your horses in a race. It seems like it would be a fun thing to be a part of.”

Rapper Lil’ Wayne also hit the horse racing winner’s circle this week

On the other side of the country, Lil’ Wayne, 42, picked up two wins in consecutive races this week.

The rapper’s horse, Sixhoofsevenhoof, first won on June 20 at Los Alamitos race course. It was an impressive feat, as it was only the second career race for the horse.

The following day, Punto Forty took a maiden special weight. It was the horse’s first-ever race.

Sixhoofsevenhoof carries a name that’s inspired by the rapper’s lead single “6 Foot 7 Foot” from his 2011 album Tha Carter IV. The three-year-old was bred in New York.
