The Thunder have done it. Oklahoma City hoists its first big-four sports championship as the Thunder took down the Pacers in seven games in the 2025 NBA Finals.
Oklahoma City had made the NBA Finals in 2012 but came up short against the Heat. The Thunder won the second NBA championship in the organization’s history, but its first since moving to OKC. When the franchise was still in Seattle, the SuperSonics won the NBA Championship in 1977, defeating the Washington Bullets.
Now that the Thunder have finally found themselves on top of the NBA world, it’s time to celebrate. As with all champions in the big-four sports, a parade will be held to honor the team. With OKC clinching the series on Sunday night, it will likely take some time to prepare the city for the parade.
