NBA Finals Game 7 final score, results: Thunder complete historic season, roll past undermanned Pacers

The NBA’s best team in 2024-25 finished the season with a historic title.

The Thunder knocked off the Pacers 103-91 in Game 7 of the NBA finals to win their first championship since moving from Seattle to Oklahoma. After a 68-14 regular season, Oklahoma City finished the season with 84 wins, tied with the 1996-97 Chicago Bulls for third most in NBA history. 

Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, the regular season MVP and now the Finals MVP, had a vintage performance in the most important game of the year, posting 29 points, 12 assists, and 5 rebounds. He became just the third player to record at least 25 points and 12 assists in an NBA Finals Game 7, joining Walt Frazier and Jerry West.

The Pacers suffered a devastating blow early in the first quarter when Tyrese Haliburton injured his Achilles trying to drive to the basket. After suffering a calf strain in Game 5, Haliburton fought through the pain in Game 6 and tried to gut it out in the final game of the series. But losing him meant Indiana did not have the offensive firepower to overcome the Thunders’ suffocating defense.

Oklahoma City captured the franchise’s first championship since 1979, when it was the Seattle Supersonics. There is sure to be an incredible scene at the championship parade.

NBA Finals Game 7 highlights from Pacers vs. Thunder

10:47 p.m. — It’s over! The Oklahoma City Thunder win their first NBA title in history!

10:43 p.m. — Dort comes up with his third steal of the game. Jalen Williams sinks a free throw to put OKC up by 14 with one minute to go. 

10:35 p.m. — Indiana is starting to play full-court defense, forcing Oklahoma City to call its last timeout with 4:11 remaining.

 10:30 p.m. — The Pacers are still fighting in Game 7. They trail by 12 with 4:45 to go. Do they have one more incredible comeback in them?

10:27 p.m. — SGA has turned in a historic performance tonight. He’s just the third player to record 25 points and 12 assists in Game 7 of the NBA Finals 

10:13 p.m. — Jalen Williams nails a three to put the Thunder up by 21. That may have been the dagger. It’s mayhem in Oklahoma City.

10:10 p.m. — No one has scored for the Pacers in the last 10 minutes besides McConnell. The Oklahoma City defense is doing what it has all year: locking it down in the fourth quarter.

End of third quarter: Thunder 81 Pacers 68

10:01 p.m. — Oklahoma City ends the third on an 11-2 run, and they have a 13-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The drama continues to unfold in Game 7.

9:54 p.m. — The Thunder force a five-second call on an inbounds pass, and that’s eight turnovers in the third quarter for Indiana.

9:48 p.m. — T. J. McConnell continues to make tough shots here in the third quarter to keep the Pacers in it. He’s got a team-high 14 points and five rebounds.

9:41 p.m. — A three bounces on the rim and drops through for Jalen Williams. The Thunder have a nine-point lead, their largest of the game. Timeout, Indiana.

9:34 p.m. — The Thunder take control of the game out of halftime with a 9-3 run, including a moon ball from Lu Dort. OKC leads 56-51.

Halftime: Pacers 48 Thunder 47

9:12 p.m. — Nembhard nails a three just before halftime for the 10th lead change of the game, the most of any game in this series. Indiana leads by one.

9:08 p.m. — Bennedict Mathurin hits a huge three to give the Pacers the lead. Everyone is contributing for Indiana in the second quarter.

8:57 p.m. — The Pacers will not quit after the Haliburton injury. Nemhard converts a tough layup to make it a one point game. Timeout, Thunder.

8:48 p.m. — Oklahoma City one of the best offensive teams in the playoffs, has not made a significant offensive run in the game so far. They are just 2-9 from three, allowing Indiana to hang around.

8:40 p.m. — UPDATE: It’s an achilles tear for Tyrese Haliburton. Absolutely horrible news for the All-Star and team leader for the Pacers.

End of first quarter: Thunder 25 Pacers 22

8:31 p.m. — Pascal Siakam hits a midrange jumper. He’s got 10 points in the first quarter, and he’ll have to stay hot without Haliburton on the floor.

8:29 p.m. — Haliburton is headed to the locker room with the help of his teammates. He cannot put any weight on his leg.

8:25 p.m. — Haliburton goes down in pain after trying to drive. It appears to be an injury to his right calf, the same one he injured in Game 5. It does not look good.

8:23 p.m. — Alex Caruso comes off the bench and hits consecutive threes for OKC. The teams are trading punches in the first quarter, and it is deafening in Paycom Center.

8:14 p.m. — Haliburton hits back-to-back threes to give the Pacers a five-point advantage early. He was able to rest his calf during a blowout win in Game 6 and looks aggressive early on.

8:09 p.m. — Andrew Nembhard knocks down a jumper on the first possession of the game, and we are underway in this one.

7:50 p.m. — The starters for Oklahoma City in Game 7.

7:45 p.m. — Reggie Miller made the trip to Oklahoma City to watch the Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

7:40 p.m. — The starters for Indiana in Game 7.

7:15 p.m. — The Pacers probably didn’t need bulletin board material for Game 7, but Rick Carlisle is fired up about the Thunder already having busses prepared for a championship parade.

7:10 p.m. — The home team has had a decisive advantage in Game 7 of the NBA Finals throughout history. Will it repeat itself tonight?

7:05 p.m. — Even before Game 7 of the NBA Finals, the MVP is signing autographs, like he has for every Thunder home game this season.

6:05 p.m. — Here comes SGA. If OKC wins tonight, he could become just the fourth player to win a scoring title, league MVP award and Finals MVP award in the same season.

5:55 p.m. — Jalen Williams is in the building.

5:50 p.m. — Chet Holmrgen arrives, looking to help the Thunder win their first NBA title in franchise history.

5:40 p.m. — Myles Turner is in the building for Game 7.

5:35 p.m. — Coming off his gutsy performance in Game 6 playing through a calf injury, Tyrese Haliburton has arrived for Game 7.

Game 7 will be held at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tip-off for the championship game is set for 8 p.m. ET, but will likely tip a few minutes later after the pre-game fanfare and starting lineups are called.
