Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, that is undeniable. However, if there’s one criticism people have of Jackson, it’s that he hasn’t even been to a Super Bowl yet.
Since taking over as the full-time starter in 2019, Jackson and the Ravens have only advanced to the AFC Championship Game once, in 2023 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In 2025, the team is surely hoping to break through. The team mostly stood pat this offseason, re-signing key free agents like Ronnie Stanley, and bringing in solid veterans like DeAndre Hopkins.
As a result, the Ravens are one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com is among the believers in the Ravens.
Brooks recently published predictions for the offseason winners, including the Ravens. For the Ravens in 2025, Brooks predicted the following:
This is the year Jackson finally gets the monkey off his back and guides the Ravens to the Super Bowl. The confetti might not fall on No. 8’s shoulders, but the “Bullies of Baltimore” will finish the season in Santa Clara, California, competing for the Lombardi Trophy.
So, Brooks believes the Ravens will make the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012. That would be an incredible accomplishment for Jackson, as the lack of a Super Bowl is the biggest criticism levied against the quarterback.
Of course, getting to the Super Bowl won’t be a cake walk. The Ravens have the highest projected win total in the AFC, but the Bills and Chiefs are right on their heels. Additionally, the AFC North should be tougher than it was a year ago.
The Browns are still expected to be among the league’s worst, but the Pittsburgh Steelers and Bengals should be better.
The Bengals narrowly missed the playoffs last season and return most of their key players. The Steelers, meanwhile, welcome future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers and star wide receiver DK Metcalf into the fold.
One factor in the Ravens’ favor is strength of schedule. The Ravens are projected to have an easier schedule than the Steelers, Texans, and Chiefs, which could end up being crucial.
If Jackson plays even close to how he played in 2024, it won’t be surprising to see the Ravens in the Super Bowl. Jackson threw for 4,172 yards with 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions last season. The quarterback also added 915 rushing yards and four scores on the ground.
With Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers, and Mark Andrews still around, and Hopkins and LaJohntay Wester brought into the fold, expect Jackson to dominate once again.
