The Dodgers star returned to pitching on June 16 to face the Padres. He threw just one inning, allowing two hits and a run in his 2025 debut. Not the return Ohtani wanted, no doubt, but the first is always the worst. He’ll pitch once again in Los Angeles’s series finale against the Nationals. Mike Soroka will go up for Washington.
LA and DC faced off early this season in April when the Nationals earned the 2-1 series victory over the Dodgers. But the Dodgers are still the reigning World Series champs, and one L doesn’t mean much. They still have one of the best records in the MLB.
