Tigers predicted to be aggressive at trade deadline according to MLB insider

The Detroit Tigers have one of the more intriguing rosters in baseball. Despite sitting atop the American League and the AL Central, there are multiple clear holes on the roster.

From issues in the bullpen to a hole at third base, the Tigers have clear needs in the buildup to the MLB trade deadline. Fortunately for Tigers fans, according to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal on Fair Territory, the Tigers are expected to be aggressive at the trade deadline.

“Keep your eyes on the Detroit Tigers,” Rosenthal said. “Because that’s a team, as good as they are, they can reinforce themselves at the deadline, and should.”

This comment from Rosenthal comes right after he mentioned that teams in baseball should be aggressive when the opportunity is there. For the Tigers, sitting atop the American League, there is no better time to be aggressive than now.

Whether it’s acquiring someone like Eugenio Suarez or trading for a top-flight closer, the Tigers should be heavily involved in trade markets around the league for a variety of players. Rosenthal’s report points to Detroit as a team he’s expecting to be aggressive.

While he doesn’t outright say the Tigers will be aggressive at the deadline, the context clues point towards Detroit being aggressive. Telling people to watch out for the Tigers implies he believes they will be making moves come late July.

For the Tigers, sitting atop the AL Central, it’s a pivotal time for the club to make additions to solidify themselves as top contenders for the 2025 World Series. They’ve already been linked to some of the top names on the market, and this report from Rosenthal indicates they will be looking to capitalize on the trade market.
