Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, who are old rivals of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, are reportedly in search of a new head coach amid doubts over current manager Matthias Jaissle’s future.
Several reports have suggested that Jaissle, whose current contract at Al Ahli is set to expire in the summer of 2026, has rejected multiple offers of a new deal.
With uncertainties hovering around Jaissle’s stay at the club, Al Ahli have identified potential replacements for the German manager, and recently dismissed Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is a prominent name on their list, according to The Athletic.
Despite leading the squad to end Spurs’ 17-year trophy draught by claiming the Europa League title, Tottenham decided to relieve Postecoglou of his managerial duties last week.
What’s next for the former Tottenham boss and Al Ahli?
The aforementioned report also suggested that Al Ahli have already established contact with Postecoglou over a potential managerial offer and the talks are progressing swiftly.
Former Barcelona head coach and club legend Xavi is also reported to be on Al Ahli’s list. The Spaniard was dismissed by the Catalan side in May last year and has not taken charge of any other club since.
