It has been a busy transfer window for Liverpool as they have wrapped up some big names and are also closing in on another. Arne Slot is desperate to bring reinforcements as he wants to continue Liverpool’s dominance in England, especially after their Premier League triumph last season.
They have already wrapped up Jeremie Frimpong and are closing in on a bumper deal for Florian Wirtz. They are also chasing a new left-back in Milos Kerkez.
Amidst their incomings, there will be sales, and it will facilitate them to sign a new striker later in the window. Darwin Nunez is reportedly tipped to leave Anfield this summer along with a few others.
However, to everyone’s shock, recent reports from Fabrizio Romano suggest that Atletico Madrid have stepped up their interest in Liverpool’s first choice left-back Andrew Robertson. The Rojiblancos rate Robertson very highly and see him as a primary option at left-back.
It is reportedly a very difficult deal for Atletico Madrid as Liverpool rate the Scotland international very highly and wouldn’t want to lose one of their experienced players just after winning the league title.
The Reds are closing in on Kerkez, who would also be a great addition to their left-back position. But even with the 21-year-old in mind, the Reds rate Robertson very highly and if the Scotsman stays at Anfield, he will continue to start for Liverpool next season.

Atletico Madrid tried to sign AC Milan star Theo Hernandez for their left-back woes but the Rojiblancos failed to come to terms with the Rossoneri over the Frenchman. Hence, they shifted their focus to Robertson.
Why did Atletico Madrid failed to land Theo Hernandez?
Hernandez is looking for a new challenge this summer and a move out of Milan is imminent. Hence, Atletico Madrid were interested in the French defender as they also want to fortify their left-back spot.
With only a year left on his contract, AC Milan are desperate to cash in on the 27-year-old. He has already turned down a move to Saudi Arabia and with Milan missing out on European football next season, he is also looking for a new challenge away from Milan.
Interestingly, reports in Italy were very positive over Hernandez making a move to Atletico Madrid. But reports in Spain suggested none of that as the Rojiblancos were just browsing their left-back options.
Reportedly, AC Milan wanted €25 million for the French left-back but Atletico Madrid were only willing to pay €20 million for the 27-year-old as they were only exploring their options in left-back position. Hence, the deal fell off.
Atletico Madrid decided to move on from Hernandez as they believed there’s a possibility of making a move for Liverpool’s Robertson. But it looks like a difficult move at the moment as they value a 31-year-old really highly.
