Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce push for a stellar move to sign Neymar

Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are all set to disrupt the summer transfer window with an audacious attempt to sign Neymar, who is currently plying his trade for Santos in his native Brazil, as per Fanatik.

Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, feel that he can convince the Brazilian icon to return to Europe by joining the Turkish outfit. Neymar is currently playing for Santos, but his current contract runs until the end of June.

So Fenerbahce are keen to bring the veteran forward, and they feel it is a realistic opportunity for them to see the former Barcelona man play for their club. Apart from Fenerbahce, Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille are also interested in the 33-year-old.

However, it remains unclear whether the Brazil international will be willing to renew his contract with Santos beyond June.

He joined the club in the January window after terminating his contract with Al-Hilal.

His career has been marred by multiple injury problems, but he is still a big name and if Fenerbahce somehow manage to convince him then it will be huge deal for them and for Turkish football in general.

Where could Neymar end up this summer?

Neymar has returned to Santos and has done reasonably well, netting three goals and providing as many assists in 12 appearances. He is getting back in rhythm as he aims to feature for Brazil in next year’s World Cup.

However, his current contract is on the verge of running out this month, and therefore negotiations are underway as Santos reportedly want to hold on to their star player.

Fenerbahce and Mourinho have stepped up their interest in Neymar, especially after their rivals Galatasaray snapped up Leroy Sane on a free transfer.

Overall, a return to Europe could well be a tempting proposition for Neymar, especially when he wants to play at a high level and get himself ready for the big tournament in 2026. So a move to Istanbul could tempt the 33-year-old this summer.
