Lakers trading Bronny James chances get surprise update from Los Angeles beat writer

There are only two Los Angeles Lakers that have been deemed “untouchable” in a trade, according to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha.

Bronny James isn’t one of them.

Buva wrote that only LeBron James and Luka Doncic won’t be moved in any deal.

It makes sense that Bronny, an end of the rotation piece, wouldn’t be immovable.

It does seem highly improbable that the Lakers would move Bronny while his pops was still around. But apparently it isn’t impossible.

Bronny flashed just enough potential as a rookie to make some other teams possibly believe in him, although the Lakers are probably growing on him, as well.

The potential availability of Bronny does create an amusing scenario where another team tries to trade for him to then see if it can entice LeBron to follow.

Given that The King is 40 years old, though, that’s not a great long-term strategy. The best reason to acquire Bronny at this point is if you believe he can eventually become a starting-level NBA guard.

In the meantime, invite the speculation. What is a prince worth in a deal?
