Growing up playing hockey, one of the career dreams young players have is winning the Stanley Cup. It is the highest achievement you can make as a team in the NHL, and many players are lucky to even just play in one Stanley Cup for the chance at winning the championship.
Not Edmonton’s Corey Perry. He can’t seem to stay away from the Stanley Cup.
Perry was the 28th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Draft and made his debut in 2005 with the Ducks. Over the last 20 seasons, he has played in six Stanley Cups.
The impressive thing is that Perry has Stanley Cup appearances with four separate teams despite being a member of the franchise for two seasons or less. He was the first player in NHL history to ever reach a Stanley Cup Final with five different franchises.

Here is more on Perry’s history in the Stanley Cup.
Does Corey Perry have a Stanley Cup?
Yes. He has played in six Stanley Cups in his career, and has won four of them so far. Perry played in one Stanley Cup with the Ducks, Stars, Canadiens and Lightning, and has played in two with the Panthers.
How many Stanley Cups has Corey Perry won?
Perry wasted little time in making his first career Stanley Cup. After the 2004-05 lockout, he and the Ducks made the playoffs in the 2005-06 season, but fell to the Oilers in the conference finals.
Anaheim dropped the “mighty” from their team name in a rebrand ahead of the 2006-2007 season, and it paid off as they not only made it to the Stanley Cup Finals but also won over the Senators, winning the series 4-1.

Corey Perry Stanley Cup losses
So far in his career, Perry has gone 1-4 in Stanley Cups. His sixth appearance had the Oilers scheduled to face the Panthers in a 2024 rematch. Here’s a look at Perry’s losses in the Stanley Cup.
2020 Stars vs. Lightning
Perry was with Dallas for only one season, during which he helped them reach the Stanley Cup Finals. The Stars won Game 1 of the series 4-1 in Tampa Bay. Dallas then dropped three games in a row, including an overtime loss in Game 4. The Stars were facing elimination in Game 5, but battled to stay alive in a double-overtime win. It was all for naught, though, as the Lightning took the series with a shutout 2-0 win in Game 6.
In the six-game series, Perry scored two goals, including the game-winner in Game 5.

2021 Canadiens vs. Lightning
Perry had another run-in with Tampa Bay in 2021, but this time he was a member of the Canadiens. Montreal struggled in the series, losing 4-1 overall. The Canadiens lost 5-1, 3-1 and 6-3 in the first three games. Montreal’s lone win came when facing elimination, and they won Game 4 in overtime 3-2. The Canadiens lost the final game of the series 1-0.
Perry only had one goal in the series, but had at least 12:31 of ice time in four of the five games in the series.

2022 Lightning vs. Avalanche
If you can’t beat them, join them. Perry had lost to Tampa Bay in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals and chose to sign a two-year contract with the franchise. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to join in on the team’s winning ways, and instead, they adopted his losing efforts. The Lightning lost to the Avalanche 4-2. Tampa Bay lost in overtime in Game 1 and then got smacked 7-0 in Game 2.
The Lightning battled back for a 6-2 win in Game 3, but lost Game 4 in overtime. Facing elimination, Tampa Bay won Game 5, but then lost Game 6 3-2.
Perry finished the series with one goal and two assists. He had a plus/minus of -1 in the series.
2024 Oilers vs. Panthers
Perry and Tampa Bay didn’t make the playoffs in his second season. Once again a free agent, he signed with Edmonton and found himself back in the Stanley Cup Finals.
This was the wildest Stanley Cup series of his career so far. The Oilers lost the first three games of the series, but then beat the Panthers 8-1 when facing elimination for the first time. Edmonton used this momentum to force a Game 7, but Florida ultimately prevailed 2-1 in the series’ final game.
Perry had one goal and one assist, but saw his ice time drop exponentially in the final three games of the series. He had 8:45 of ice time in his first game, but then 11:25 and 13:41 in the second and third games of the series. That dropped to 7:07 in Game 5 and he only played 7:52 in Game 7.
