LeBron James has earned every right to push back against the haters.
And one critique of the all-time great is that he “has no bag.” For the uninitiated, a “bag” is an assortment of moves and offensive talents, usually related to scoring points.
James, as you might recall, is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
On his Mind the Game podcast, James laughed when sharing how he felt about this critique.
“I’m sitting over here with 50 billion points,” James said with a chuckle.
James has actually scored 42,184 points in the regular season and another 8,289 in the playoffs for more than 50K in his career.
He’s known for so much more than his scoring. His passing vision and redefining of essentially a “point forward” position has been remarkable throughout his whole career.
But The King can also score, and he hasn’t just lucked into that many points.
James’ bag might not look like Kyrie Irving’s or Kevin Durant’s or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s.
But LeBron can get you a bucket. He’s already gotten plenty.
