Fresh off a second-place run at Nashville, Carson Hocevar heads to his backyard with momentum on his side and history in his sights. The Portage, Michigan product is still hunting for that elusive first Cup Series win, and there’s no better place to break through than on home turf.
Hocevar’s already tasted victory this week, taking the checkered flag at the Money in the Bank 150 Super Late Model race at Berlin Raceway. With double duty on the docket — he’s also running Saturday’s Craftsman Truck Series race — the 21-year-old has two swings at the fences this weekend.
But Hocevar isn’t the only Mitten State native looking to shine. Brad Keselowski, despite boasting 36 Cup Series wins, has yet to crack the code at Michigan — a surprising stat for the Rochester Hills veteran. Meanwhile, Byron’s own Erik Jones is also gunning for his first hometown triumph, hoping to turn local cheers into champagne showers.
