The Green Bay Packers are in an interesting spot when it comes to their wide receiver room. They’re not in a tough position this season, but after the year ends, they will certainly have some important decisions to make. The Packers drafted Matthew Golden with their first-round pick, and he has been showing out — not just on the field, but with the fans as well.
“Starting to realize Green Bay not too big, so a lot of people gonna recognize me. But it’s a blessing just to be able to be around people that care about you … for me it’s just being able to show my face and show that I love being here,” Golden said.
Golden is one of the few receivers locked in for next season. As for Romeo Doubs, however, he could be on the trade block this year.
“Whether the Pack want to admit it or not, the trade window has just been cracked wide open. And if Rodgers wants one of ‘his guys’ to help elevate the Steelers’ offense — history suggests he does — Doubs might be the next name off Green Bay’s roster,” Lombardi Ave’s Matt Sidney wrote.
The final name is Christian Watson, who is entering the last year of his rookie contract. The wideout is coming off an ACL injury but appears to be progressing quickly in his recovery. There could be some challenges with a new contract after the season, leaving his future uncertain.
“This leaves his future with the Packers somewhat up in the air. Finding a compromise on a contract to keep him on the team in 2026 and beyond projects to be difficult, and depends greatly on how quickly and effectively he can return to his pre-injury form,” Packers Wire’s Mark Oldacres wrote.

The Packers are facing a tough situation, but if Doubs is traded, reaching a deal with Watson will likely be necessary. With Jordan Love entering his prime, Green Bay’s goal is clear: to provide him with strong weapons.
