Chelsea’s Premier League rivals ‘believe’ they can sign Blues star

After winning the UEFA Conference League and finishing fourth in the final 2024/25 Premier League rankings, Chelsea are currently in the middle of a busy transfer window.

The Blues have reportedly already agreed a deal for striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and they have now turned their attention to Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and Mike Maignan at AC Milan.

However, the excitement of Chelsea fans over potential arrivals, multiple players are also expected to leave the club, as Enzo Maresca plans an overhaul this summer.

Nicolas Jackson is one of the names linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea want a fresh attack led by Delap.

With the Senegal international unlikely to accept being a third-choice striker at the club, he could leave the club in the ongoing transfer window, with rumoured interest from a rival.

Manchester United have reportedly flagged up an interest in the former Villarreal striker as Ruben Amorim looks for alternatives to Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

At the end of May, it was reported United had made an approach for Jackson, but Chelsea were reluctant to negotiate a sale at the time.

That stance may be softening, with Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips claiming – via Si Phillips Talks Chelsea – that United remain interested in the 23-year-old and Amorim ‘believes’ their rivals will sell him if a suitable offer arrives.

Why Jackson to Man United makes sense?

Amorim is desperately in need of a striker and that will direct United’s moves in the transfer market.

Jackson has racked up two decent seasons in the Premier League with 24 goals and 10 assists across 65 appearances and that is attracting United’s interest.

According to Phillips, Aston Villa, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are also seriously interested in signing Jackson, so United might have to fight off some serious competition if they are to land their target.
