The Boston Red Sox are scuffling. After making several key offseason additions, they were expected to be a clear contender in the American League.
Unfortunately for Boston, they are 29-34 and sit 10 games back of the first place New York Yankees in the AL East.
As a result, they may end up being sellers at the trade deadline. One of the biggest pieces they could sell is All-Star outfielder Jarren Duran.
It remains to be seen if Boston would even entertain trading him, but Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report lists the Seattle Mariners as the top destination if he is traded.
“How does an outfield of Duran, Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena sound? ‘Intimidating’ is the right word, and the Mariners surely need the offensive upgrade if they’re finally going to make it to the World Series,” wrote Rymer.

This would make for a strong outfield in Seattle. The trade proposal would send Boston a nice haul in return, however.
They would be receiving right-hander Bryce Miller and prospects Michael Arroyo and Harry Ford.
This could set them up well for 2026 and beyond and even clear a roster spot for top prospect Roman Anthony.
Duran is hitting .273/.318/.424 with four home runs, 35 RBI, 13 stolen bases and a .743 OPS this season with the Red Sox. While it would hurt to get rid of him, it might be a loss Boston can survive with Anthony waiting in the wings.
Boston might be forced to sell at the deadline if they cannot turn things around soon. It has been a difficult season at Fenway Park.
We’ll see if they even entertain the idea of trading Duran.
