Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer off the pitch. The club has confirmed that 20 players will leave when their contracts expire on June 30 (via Arsenal.com).
Among the names are two senior stars who played key roles in recent years — and their exits signal the start of another rebuild under Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners made the announcement through their official retained list, which includes names from the first team, academy, and women’s squad.
For fans still replaying last season’s title chase, this list might feel like the end of a chapter.
Jorginho, the experienced Italian midfielder, is reportedly heading for Brazil. His move to Flamengo has been in the works, and now it’s all but done.
He joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2023 and made over 70 appearances. His calm presence in midfield and sharp passing made him a steady figure, even if his stay was short.

Kieran Tierney is also set to say goodbye. Once seen as a future captain, the Scottish left-back spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad. Now, he’s expected to return to Celtic — a move that brings him full circle.
It’s not just the big names moving on. A number of academy players and loanees are also heading out.
Brothers Salah-Eddine and Ismail Oulad M’Hand, once seen as future first-teamers, are both leaving after mixed spells away from the club.
Raheem Sterling, who spent a forgettable season on loan from Chelsea, will return to his parent club. One goal in 28 games wasn’t enough to secure a permanent move.
Other exits include under-21 prospects like Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Khayon Edwards, and Brian Okonkwo — all part of the recent Premier League 2 campaign.
On the women’s side, Lina Hurtig, Amanda Ilestedt, and Teyah Goldie will also move on.
With this many players heading out, Arsenal fans can expect a busy transfer window. A new-look squad is coming — let the summer shopping begin.
