Celtics trade proposal grabs $220 million Knicks star amid Kristaps Porzingis rumors

The Boston Celtics enter the offseason with more questions than they’ve had in recent years. After Jayson Tatum went down with an injury, the Celtics could look to regroup and save money; however, until that happens, questions will remain about what the team plans to do.

While it’s fair to suggest anything right now with the Celtics, given the unfortunate situation with Tatum, it’s also important to recognize that Brad Stevens is one of the best in the world at his job.

There’s a reason why many consider him one of the best executives in the league.

Stevens has done nothing but put together championship rosters during his time with the Celtics, and there’s no reason to think he won’t continue to do that.

In a surprising development, the Celtics were recently linked to New York Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns, with PFSN suggesting that the Celtics could be a potential landing spot for the sharpshooting center, depending on how things unfold throughout the offseason.

“It sounds ludicrous to suggest that the Knicks would dare trade Towns to the Celtics, but if they really don’t believe in him, suddenly, the Celtics have assets to offer and want to save money. A two-way deal wouldn’t work between them, but a multi-team trade would,” they wrote.

The only way this would make sense is if the team moved on from Kristaps Porzingis. In that scenario, however, the Celtics would have to make this a multi-team trade for obvious reasons of Porzingis’ past in New York.

There have been rumors that Boston could move on from Porzingis, so it’s possible.

Towns would be an interesting fit with the Celtics. There’s no debate that he’d be a welcoming addition, as he has the ability to stretch the floor and post up, something the Celtics’ offense excels at.

However, his defensive issues are a bit questionable. The Celtics are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA as currently constructed, and adding Towns doesn’t help continue that.
