Bucks called projected 2025 lottery pick despite having no pick, per report

The biggest story in the NBA over the past few weeks has been around Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future.

We don’t know yet if he will be on the move this summer, but there have already been rumors of his interest in certain teams and teams’ interest in him.

One recent report is another indirect indicator that Giannis could be on the move.

What indicated that Giannis could be traded?

According to NBA Draft consultant Rafael Barlowe, the Bucks were contacting a player who’s projected to be picked in the lottery despite having no pick.

The Bucks aren’t even picking in the first round at the moment.

The father of this projected lottery pick was confused about why Milwaukee called, saying “They’ve called, and I don’t understand why they have interest unless they plan on making a move.”

It was reported within the last week or two that Milwaukee was preparing for if they drafted a player in the lottery despite again not having a pick.

Now, this could be just to prepare in case a deal does happen last minute.

There’s no timetable on the Giannis situation, and even if he were to request a trade, it would take some time for the Bucks to find the best deal available among the expected several teams engaging in talks.

The 2025 NBA Draft begins on 25 June next month.
