The New York Jets have been extremely busy the last few months between filling out their coaching staff, front office and roster while letting some members of their 2024 team go.
While the releases of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams got the most attention, New York also made the decision to cut veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley earlier this offseason.
Nearly three months into free agency, Mosley has yet to find a new job after spending five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and six with the New York Jets, recording 1,083 tackles (55 for a loss), 53 passes defensed, 40 quarterback hits, 12 sacks, 12 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and nine fumbles recovered on his way to five Pro Bowls and five All-Pro selections.
While Mosley is still looking for a new home, Pro Football and Sports Network’s Brandon Austin recently predicted that he’d land with the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 2025 season.
The Titans, after finishing last year with a 3-14 record and earning the first-overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, have done a lot to turn around their roster before Brian Callahan’s second season as their head coach.
Those moves have included sweeping changes to their linebacker room, as they allowed Kenneth Murray, Jerome Baker, Luke Gifford and Jack Gibbens to sign with new teams. They’ve also left Raekwon McMillan, Chance Campbell and Garret Wallow unsigned on the market and signed a trio of veterans at the position – Cody Barton, Curtis Jacobs and Anfernee Orji.

Tennessee’s linebacker room could use some veteran leadership and Mosley could be just the guy to fill that hole after being a team captain with New York the last few seasons.
If that Titans defense, led by second-year coordinator Dennard Wilson, can take a step forward in 2025, they may be able to break out of the basement of the AFC South and at least be entertaining to watch.
