Lionel Messi set to get new manager as potential replacement lined up for Mascherano at Inter Miami

Javier Mascherano took charge as the head coach of Inter Miami in November last year following the dismissal of Gerardo Martino.

Mascherano’s appointment came with the expectations of the Herons’ improved chances in competitions, and while Inter Miami started the ongoing season with an unbeaten record, things have not been looking bright as of late for them.

Lionel Messi’s side has managed only one win in their last five Major League Soccer matches, bringing in a lot of criticism for Mascherano.

Even though the Argentine coach has been admittingly claiming responsibility for his squad’s recent disappointing run, it might not be enough for Inter Miami to consider giving him more chances.

Inter Miami have started their search for a new manager and have already identified the replacement for Mascherano, according to GOAL.

Who has Inter Miami identified as Lionel Messi & Inter Miami’s next manager?

As per the aforementioned report, Inter Miami has identified Andre Jardine as the potential replacement for Inter Miami.

The 45-year-old manager is currently in charge of Liga MX side Club America and has led his squad to three consecutive league victories.

Jardine is also reported to have shared a close relationship with Inter Miami’s chief soccer officer, Alberto Marrero, which can help the Herons’ chances of appointing the Brazilian manager.

Jardine’s current contract with Club America is valid until the summer of 2027, and his deal includes a buyout clause reportedly estimated at $5 million (£3.6m).
