When are Premier League fixtures released? Date of new schedule for 2025/26 season

Liverpool celebrated their Premier League title success at Anfield after their game with FA Cup winner Crystal Palace closed the 2024/25 season.

It’s the first time the Reds have been able to lap up a top-flight trophy presentation with their fans for 35 years, having lifted the 2019/20 title under pandemic conditions.

Palace’s FA Cup success against Manchester City was the first major trophy in their history, while Newcastle United won a first domestic honour for 70 years when they beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

Throw in Tottenham’s Europa League triumph and it’s been a season to cherish for sets of fans who haven’t often had much to shout about.

For better or worse, they get to do it all over again very soon.

When are Premier League fixtures released?

The Premier League fixtures for the 2025/26 season will be released on Wednesday, June 18.

Every match will initially be announced as a Saturday 3 p.m. kickoff UK time, or 7:45 p.m for midweek rounds.

Those slots will change for several games on each matchweek when television companies make their broadcast selections.

When does Premier League 2025/26 season start?

The first matchweek of the 2025/26 Premier League season is slated for the weekend of August 16/17.

However, once rights holders have decided upon the first batch of televised fixtures, it is likely that the first game of the season will be on Friday, August 15.

With the exception of the 2020/21 season, Sky Sports have selected an opening matchweek game to be shown on a Friday night since 2017.

The 2020/21 was only an exception as it began late under pandemic conditions.
