Broncos predicted to add 5-time Pro Bowl star amid injury worries

Depth is never a bad thing to have in the National Football League.

The Denver Broncos could benefit from an extra piece at linebacker. Dre Greenlaw has been injured multiple times in his NFL career, and he hurt his quad earlier in the offseason. Alex Singleton is coming off a torn ACL.

SI’s Chad Jensen suggested a solution recently. He wants the Broncos to go after five-time Pro Bowl linebacker C.J. Mosley, who is a free agent.

“The Jets released Mosley earlier this offseason, after a toe and neck injury caused him to miss 13 games last season,” Jensen writes. “His prime playing days may be behind him, but he started all 17 games in 2022 and 2023 for the Jets, totaling 310 tackles (110 solo) over that span.”

The Broncos likely wouldn’t have to shell out crazy money for Mosley. Given that he’s still a free agent, he’d probably take what he could get to play on a strong team.

Mosley began his NFL career in 2014 as a first-round Ravens draft pick out of Alabama.

He’s been one of the top linebackers in the league for most of his career.

“After finishing as a top-10 defense in scoring and points last year, and also leading the league in sacks, the Broncos’ 2025 unit is expected to be among the NFL’s best, if not the best, as is,” Jensen writes. “Mosley would only bolster that outlook. If the Broncos had a big defensive weakness last year, it was against the run. That defense chose some poor moments to suddenly spring leaks in the running game.”

It certainly seems like a strong suggestion. Now we’ll have to wait and see whether the Broncos go for it.
