Lionel Messi will reveal to fans his favorite goal scored across his illustrious career.
After graduating from La Masia, Messi started his senior career with Barcelona in 2004 and continued on until 2021. During 17 successful years at Camp Nou, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner scored a club-record 672 goals.
Messi then joined Paris Saint-Germain, where he netted 32 goals in 75 appearances before signing for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami in 2023.
The Argentine icon is already Inter Miami’s top goal scorer with 44 goals in 54 matches, and that figure is on the rise.
In total, Messi has scored 860 goals for club and country in his ongoing two-decade career.
With such a long list to pick from, choosing a favorite might be difficult for the 37-year-old, given he has such an extensive back catalogue.

When will Lionel Messi reveal his favorite goal in his career?
On May 13, Messi announced he will reveal his favorite goal on May 22 as part of a charity event.
A depiction of that goal will then be made into a piece of art by Refik Anadol. Messi and the artist will both sign it and that will be auctioned off for charity.
Speaking about the upcoming revelation, Messi admitted [via ESPN] ‘choosing just one goal’ from his career is ‘very difficult.’ However, the maestro emphasized the ‘strong purpose’ that lies behind what he believes is a ‘unique project.’
“Choosing just one goal out of them all is very difficult. Each one is special in its own way, and some are really important or bring back incredible memories. But highlighting one as a favorite for the first time, to make this unique project possible is worth it. There’s a strong purpose behind it and I’m really happy to be part of it.”
The art piece will be unveiled in New York by auction house Christie’s on June 11 and the auction will run until July 25.
