Barcelona are on the brink of securing the 2024/25 La Liga title after a chaotic 4-3 El Clasico win over Real Madrid.
The Catalans once again showed their grit to respond to setbacks, as Hansi Flick’s side fought back from 2-0 down early on, to head in at the break with a 4-2 advantage.
Despite Kylian Mbappe completing his hat-trick after the restart, Barcelona held on, to secure a vital victory against their fiercest rivals.
Teenage superstar Lamine Yamal was once again amongst the goals, as he netted against Los Blancos for the third time this season, to tie the game at 2-2.
The 17-year-old continues to thrive under the pressure of being a vital player for Flick, despite his tender age, with the 100-game mark already broken by the teenager back in April.
A midweek 4-3 defeat away at Inter Milan ended Barcelona’s chances of lifting the UEFA Champions League this season, as they bowed out at the semifinal stage at the San Siro.

Lamine Yamal revealed he was left distraught by losing away in Milan, but he revealed a chat with his mother got him back on track, with some wise words for the teenager before a huge El Clasico showdown.
“In the end, I told my mother, the Champions League comes along every year. We’ll keep on trying, but today was important to win, to get us closer to the league title,” he told Mundo Deportivo after the game.
“It was a very important game to gain a considerable lead. After the UCL match, it was very important to win, and even more so if it was against Real Madrid. Today it’s time to enjoy it.”
Up next for Flick and his players is a Catalan derby against Espanyol on May 15, followed by a final home game of the campaign against Villarreal on May 18, and a season closer at Athletic Club on May 25.
