The Golden State Warriors advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals after defeating the Houston Rockets in Game 7 on Sunday.
Buddy Hield led the way with 33 points, including nine 3-pointers, in the 103-89 win in Houston. Stephen Curry played well as usual, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists to continue his excellent postseason career.
Now, the Warriors face Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, who just knocked off LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in five games in the first round.
On Monday, the Get Up crew discussed the Warriors, and Kendrick Perkins stated that Curry is one step from being in the NBA GOAT conversation.
“Steph Curry is one championship away and one Finals MVP away from entering the GOAT conversation,” Perkins said. “Real talk…I would dare somebody to try to argue and make me seem like I’m saying something ridiculous.”
Perkins said Curry has “changed the game forever” and said he’s “getting it done on both ends of the floor.”

It’s hard to argue against Perkins, especially looking at Curry’s numbers. He has four NBA titles and one Finals MVP. He has made the All-Star team 11 times in his 16-year career, and he has helped lead the Warriors even without Klay Thompson.
The question is, can the Warriors get it done? The Timberwolves are a tough matchup, and a win in that series would put them against either the Oklahoma City Thunder or Denver Nuggets before even getting to the NBA Finals.
Still, Curry is one of the greatest the game has seen, and he seems to be right on the cusp of the GOAT debate.
