Leicester City have their sights set on doing the double over Southampton, having edged them 3-2 at St Mary’s earlier in the campaign.
Jamie Vardy has already announced he’s calling time on his legendary stint with the Foxes, ready to hang up his boots after years of goal-scoring heroics.
To add to the shake-up, Ruud van Nistelrooy is also expected to leave his post once the curtain falls on the season. Since taking the reins in early December, Van Nistelrooy’s tenure has been far from a dream run — just two wins to his name, and his side heads into this one still licking their wounds after a 3-0 thrashing at Molineux.

Southampton, meanwhile, can’t seem to catch a break. Simon Rusk is back in the hot seat for a second interim spell, and while his pragmatic, no-frills approach has brought better structure, the results haven’t followed. Saints are playing with more grit, but they’re still finding new and creative ways to throw away leads.
Last weekend summed it all up — a promising start and an early goal from Jack Stephens had them leading Fulham, but the good vibes didn’t last. Emile Smith Rowe leveled things in the 72nd minute, and just when it looked like the points might be shared, Ryan Sessegnon stole the show in stoppage time to leave Southampton empty-handed once again.

Leicester vs. Southampton predicted lineups, team news
Leicester City’s injury list is growing by the minute, and after a bruising loss to Wolves, the treatment room’s starting to feel more like a revolving door.
Facundo Buonanotte suffered a concussion, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Ricardo Pereira both limped off with muscle issues. Buonanotte and De Cordova-Reid are now ruled out, joining Abdul Fatawu (knee) and Stephy Mavididi (muscle) on the sidelines. Pereira’s knock will be monitored right up until kickoff, but he’s touch and go.
Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy also dropped a bombshell: first-choice keeper Mads Hermansen is done for the season after groin surgery. That means Jakub Stolarczyk will be handed the gloves and the spotlight for the run-in.
James Justin is likely to step in at right-back if Pereira can’t go, lining up alongside Wout Faes, Conor Coady, and Luke Thomas to form the backline. In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi and Boubakary Soumare look set to hold down the fort in the center of the park.
With Buonanotte out, teenage sensation Jeremy Monga — just 15 years old — is knocking on the door for his first senior start. Still, Van Nistelrooy might lean toward experience, with Kasey McAteer and Jordan Ayew the more likely picks to patrol the flanks. That would leave Bilal El Khannouss pulling the strings in the number 10 role, just behind the ever-reliable Jamie Vardy up top.
Leicester City predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Hermansen (GK) — Justin, Faes, Coady, Thomas — Ndidi, Soumare — McAteer, El Khannouss, Ayew — Vardy.
Injured: Pereira (Injured), Decordova-Reid (Injured), Fatawu (Injured), Mavididi (Injured), Winks (Out of favour), Buonanotte (Concussion),
Suspended: None
Southampton head into their next clash with a couple of notable absentees, as Albert Gronbaek (Achilles) and Charlie Taylor (hip) remain stuck on the sidelines. There’s better news for Paul Onuachu, though — the towering striker is back in training and fit for selection after sitting out the Fulham loss with an ankle knock.
Now it’s decision time for Simon Rusk. Up top, he’ll have to pick his poison: stick with Ross Stewart to lead the line, or hand a recall to either the returning Onuachu or Cameron Archer. Meanwhile, fan-favorite Tyler Dibling — who’s been warming the bench for the past three outings — is pushing for a place in the starting XI amid transfer buzz and growing hype.
Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mateus Fernandes could keep their spots in the final third if Rusk opts for consistency, while the midfield pairing of Flynn Downes and Lesley Ugochukwu looks set to stay put. That means William Smallbone and Joe Aribo may once again find themselves watching from the dugout, waiting for a chance to make an impact.
Southampton predicted XI (3-4-2-1, right to left): Ramsdale (GK) — Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Stephens — Walker-Peters, Downes, Ugochukwu, Manning — Fernandes, Sulemana — Stewart.
Injured: Gronbaek (Injured), Taylor (Injured), Onuachu (Injured).
Suspended: None
