The Los Angeles Dodgers made a three-year commitment to Hyeseong Kim this offseason.
They paid the Korean infielder $12.5 million to leave KBO and come to MLB.
Things didn’t start off great, though. Kim struggled in spring training and was sent down to Triple-A to begin the season.
Now? Kim is coming back up.
According to multiple reports, Kim is being called up to join the big league club on their road trip to Atlanta.

Kim has put up an .801 OPS at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
By more traditional stats, he’s batting .257 with eight doubles and five home runs.
The power is a bit surprising given that Kim’s season-high in home runs in KBO was 11.

The 26-year old can play second base and shortstop and has also seen time in the outfield.
He spent eight seasons in the KBO, two with Nexen and six with Kiwoom, before coming to the U.S.

Kim has great speed, as well, having stolen 13 bases in as many tries this season at Triple-A.
He’ll provide a multi-faceted boost to the Dodgers, capable of doing many things and playing many spots. It’s a great pickup to have a month into the season, adding veteran talent from within the organization.
