MLB Player Props: Picks and Best Bets for Sunday, April 27 Games

A 1-1 record on Saturday in the MLB player props market brings our weekly record to 13-2. This is by far the most successful week we’ve had betting props, and we’re looking to keep the good times rolling on Sunday.

We’ve got two more wagers on our card today, starting with the Twins Joe Ryan. The right-hander has a home date with the free-swinging Angels, and we’re expecting him to rack up strikeouts in this matchup.

MLB Player Prop Picks for April 27

Joe Ryan Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-140 at DraftKings)

Before we get to Ryan, let’s talk about the importance of having access to multiple sportsbooks. It’s rare that any two sportsbooks are completely in sync when it comes to prop bets, and Ryan’s K total today is a good example.

DraftKings has Ryan’s over/under for strikeouts set at 6.5. FanDuel, on the other hand, lists the line at 7.5. Bet365 is also offering the prop at 6.5, but with more juice on the over. Bottom line, always price shop to get the best line.

Back to Ryan, who’s seen a slight dip in his strikeout production in 2025. His K/9 rate is at 9.3, down half a strikeout from his career average. A closer look at his opponents might help explain the dip. Four of Ryan’s five starts have come against teams that whiff at a bottom-11 rate. Today’s opponent, LA, lands on the opposite side of that spectrum.

The Angels enter play as the third most strikeout-happy team in baseball. They fanned 13 times on Saturday, after striking out 10 times on Friday. LA averages 10 Ks per outing, and current Angel batters have not fared well versus Ryan. The 28-year-old has faced this collection of hitters 33 times, posting a 39.3% strikeout rate.

Gavin Lux 2+ Bases (+115 at Bet365)

There’s an old saying: dance with the one who brought you. That rings especially true to our incredible run this week, as we’ve been riding with Cincy’s Gavin Lux. We started off the week betting on him, and we’ll finish the week the same way.

Lux continues to be undervalued in the props market. He’s slashing .389/.500/.556 this week, with a home run, 4 RBI, and 6 runs. Now you’re saying we can bet him to record two bases at plus-money odds in a game at Coors Field? Sign us up.

Lux’s impressive season continued on Saturday, with two more hits in the Reds 6-4 win over the Rockies. Cincy-Colorado has the highest game total on today’s slate, making it the ideal environment for Lux’s success to continue.

Opposing batters are hitting .276 at Coors Field this season, with a .460 slugging percentage. They’re averaging 6.5 runs per game, with a 5% home run rate.
