The NFL Draft order will look a bit different after a pre-draft trade between the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans.
Amid rumors that the Browns are thinking about moving the No. 2 selection, they first are making moves at the back end of the draft.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the deal. Here were the picks moved:
- Browns get 2025 5th-round pick (166 overall) and 2027 5th-round pick
- Texans get 2025 6th-round pick (179 overall), 2025 6th-round pick (216 overall) and 2025 7th-round pick (255 overall)
So that’ll be, as it stands, two less picks in the current draft for Cleveland, which upgrades one pick this year and turns two later picks this year into an earlier pick in two years.

It’s not the most exciting deal, but it could have ramifications down the road, especially if the Browns find a way to use that 2027 fifth-rounder in a year’s time, potentially in a deal for a veteran contract.
It doesn’t impact anything in Round 1 on Thursday, or even Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday.
But it’s just the start of the dealing.
Cleveland might continue to be active, or maybe it’ll be someone else.
But there are definitely deals to be made, so keep an eye out.
