Caleb Plant and Jermall Charlo are ready to square off in the ring. Before they do that, the two must compete in separate bouts on the same card on May 31.
Plant (23-2) faces Jose Resendiz, while Charlo (33-0) faces Thomas LaManna. A clash between the two will be booked if both succeed in beating their opposition.
A former IBF super middleweight champion, Plant lost against Canelo Alvarez to determine the undisputed champion at 168. “Sweethands” is 2-2 in his last four fights, recovering from a loss against David Benavidez for interim gold with a knockout win in September.

Resendiz (15-2) is 3-2 in his last five fights. The Mexican fighter has eleven wins via knockout, taking out former unified champion Jarrett Hurd in 2023.
Charlo has held the IBF super welterweight and WBC middleweight titles. He last fought in 2023, beating Jose Benavidez Jr. “Hit Man” was stripped of the WBC belt following multiple misdemeanors (including a DUI) to add to his recent legal troubles.

LaManna (39-5-1) is on a nine-fight win streak after failing to capture gold against Erislandy Lara in 2021. “Cornflake” has 18 wins via knockout.
