Real Madrid are in a bit of a slump this season, and their elimination from the Champions League certainly didn’t help.
Now, Los Blancos’ objectives for the remainder of the ongoing campaign include winning the Copa del Rey and La Liga. However, both challenges include fighting with archrivals Barcelona, who are having an impressive run this season.
The Catalans remain unbeaten this season as they sit on top of the La Liga table with 73 points in 33 matches and have also qualified for the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in six seasons.
This season’s Copa del Rey final happens to be an El Clasico, which will take place on April 26. Real Madrid have met Barcelona on two other occasions this season and are yet to bag a win.
Having already lost the Supercopa de España final to Barca in January and their struggling form, there has been a lack of confidence in Madrid’s chances for the upcoming clash. However, Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti still believes in his squad’s capabilities to turn the situation around.

What did Carlo Ancelotti say about Real Madrid’s chances against Barcelona?
Speaking ahead of their La Liga clash against Getafe on April 23, Ancelotti expressed faith in his players to make the most out of the remaining chances this season. The Italian manager also dismissed (comments via Managing Madrid) the idea of his squad currently being ‘underdogs’ to Barcelona.
“The two titles that we have at stake, not taking into account the World Cup, depend on beating Barcelona. That’s the only doubt we don’t have at the moment. We will have to get past the next game well and focus on the cup final. We are confident that we can do it and we can achieve it. We have to change something in this sense and we are going to change it,” he said
“Not so much, but that’s the way it is. They seem to be better than us, but a final is something unpredictable. To cast Real Madrid as underdogs in a final seems to me to be a bit exaggerated,” added Ancelotti.
