Aaron Rodgers’ release by the Jets happened quickly.
Stories last week shared how Rodgers flew cross-country to meet with new coach Aaron Glenn, only to learn basically immediately that he was being let go.
One of Rodgers’ long-time teammates isn’t a fan of that at all.
Davante Adams spoke with The Athletic’s Michael Silver to share his thoughts.
“I thought he was being a little dramatic at first,” Adams told Silver. “I’m like, ‘Bro, don’t paraphrase it. How did he say this?’ [But] that’s how he said it. And I was shocked because I didn’t think anybody had the balls to, for lack of better words, to hit him with it like that. Just flat out — ‘Yeah, I think we’re just gonna do something different. We’re gonna move in a different direction.’ It was shocking, but right from that moment, I knew there was no chance that I’d be back there.”

Adams didn’t take long to leave the Jets, eventually landing with the Los Angeles Rams.
Since Rodgers won’t be going to the Rams, it’ll be an unusual separation for the Adams-Rodgers pairing.
Adams might have a fair point on the whole situation, assuming Rodgers is telling the story correctly. There may have been better ways to handle things with one of the NFL’s all-time greats.
But what’s done is done.
Adams has a new home, and the NFL world awaits Rodgers’ decision on where he’s going next. He’s certainly dragging it out longer than Glenn did with his Jets QB decision to Rodgers.
