It’s apparent that the New York Yankees need another starter if they want to be the team they were looking to be entering the campaign.
The Yankees are very good, at least on paper, and have the players to win a World Series if things break their way. However, with an average staff, it’s tough to find a scenario where everything goes in the Yankees’ favor.
The issue in any trade they make over the next few months is that the farm system isn’t as great as some believed it was a few years ago. Many of the Yankees’ top prospects have multiple question marks, and as a result, they could find it tough to move on from some of those guys.
However, there might be a few players who won’t require the Yankees to move a huge prospect haul.
Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report predicted one of them to be Tyler Anderson, adding how the Los Angeles Angels will likely miss the postseason again, and he could be on the move.
“However, it’s still looking quite likely that the Halos will miss the postseason for an 11th consecutive year.

“Should they accept that fate two months in advance and embrace a fire sale, Tyler Anderson just might land at the top of the list of rental pitchers on this year’s block,” they wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see what Anderson goes for, but it’s also important to remember that starters have gone for ridiculous packages over the past few deadlines.
That could be an issue for the Yankees, but given he’s a rental and hasn’t exactly been elite throughout his career, the Yankees might be able to get off cheap here.
That doesn’t mean they’ll be able to send a no-name prospect for the left-hander, who currently has a 2.08 ERA and has struck out 21 hitters in 21.2 innings, but they might be able to land him for an average haul if they’re willing to part ways with certain guys.
