Jalen Ramsey has been one of the best cornerbacks of his generation. The veteran has excelled for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and the Miami Dolphins in his nine-year career.
However, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier recently revealed that the team is trying to trade Ramsey. Grier added that Ramsey did not request to be traded, but the team likely wants to save some money and get younger at the position.
Even though Ramsey will turn 31 during the 2025 season, it’s expected the veteran will a healthy trade market. Cameron Sheath of Pro Football Network recently identified the best landing spots for Ramsey in a trade.
Sheath listed the Philadelphia Eagles as a logical destination. Regarding Ramsey’s potential fit in Philadelphia, Sheath offered the following:
The rich get richer. The Philadelphia Eagles did an outstanding job of revamping their secondary in the 2024 NFL Draft. Both Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean played huge roles in the team’s run to the Super Bowl.
But the Eagles still relied on veteran cornerback Darius Slay to man the perimeter opposite Mitchell. Slay is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Eagles have the cap space to add yet another phenomenal talent to their roster. In replacing Slay with Ramsey, the Eagles could add a seven-time Pro Bowler while still getting younger at the position.
In 2024, Ramsey collected 60 tackles, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 11 pass deflections. The veteran received a solid 76.9 Pro Football Focus grade, which ranked 16th out of 222 qualified cornerbacks.
Ramsey has earned seven Pro Bowl appearances in his nine-year career and has also been a First-team All-Pro selection three times. The corner won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams and has collected 24 interceptions in his career.

In Philadelphia, Ramsey could start on the boundary opposite impressive 2024 rookie Quinyon Mitchell. As Sheath mentioned, veteran Darius Slay left the Eagles in free agency, so the team needs another reliable starting option on the outside.
Ramsey signed a three-year, $72.3 million extension with the Dolphins last year, so the corner won’t be a free agent until 2029. In 2025, Ramsey will carry a cap hit of over $16 million. Per Over the Cap, the Eagles have around $22 million in cap space, so Ramsey’s contract could fit in on the roster.
