The long-awaited NFL Draft is just six days away, and there’s still plenty of uncertainty in the air.
The top three picks, however, appear to be mostly solidified: Cam Ward is projected to go to Tennessee, Travis Hunter to Cleveland, and the third pick is expected to be either Shedeur Sanders or Abdul Carter.
When it comes to quarterbacks, the two most likely to land anywhere in the first round are Sanders and Jalen Milroe. Milroe has been projected in the early second round, potentially going to the Giants, though there has also been some buzz about Pittsburgh selecting him in the first round.
Milroe’s invitation to the first night of the draft suggests that he’s expected to be a first-round pick. The Alabama QB has been gaining momentum in recent weeks.
“According to Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz, ‘Milroe’s name has been gaining steam in recent weeks,’” Jack McKessy wrote.
One mock draft even has the Giants trading up for a second first-round pick to acquire Milroe. That move would signal the franchise sees him as their future, potentially preparing for life after Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston as their contracts near expiration.

Milroe received one of his highest compliments when he was compared to Lamar Jackson—being viewed as a potential game-changer.
“To me, Jalen Milroe is a lottery ticket. He’s got the strongest arm of any quarterback in the draft. … He has the agility and vision as a runner that I would put up there with the Lamar Jackson’s of the world,” Mina Kimes said.
The Cleveland Browns’ GM echoed that sentiment, even claiming Milroe is faster than Jackson. With comparisons like these, the former Alabama QB appears to have a bright NFL future. Milroe will be thrilled wherever he lands—but the real excitement will come from the fans of the team that drafts him, especially once they see what he can do in the open field.
