MLS club among firsts to make offer for Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne

Earlier this month, Kevin De Bruyne announced that he would be parting ways with Manchester City following the end of his contract this summer.

De Bruyne arrived at the Etihad from VfL Wolfsburg in 2015 and has been a key player in Pep Guardiola’s squad for a decade now. The Belgian’s contributions on the pitch for City have earned him a place among the club’s legends as well as put him alongside record holders in the Premier League.

While it appears his journey and Man City will be coming to an end, the 33-year-old is wanted by several clubs across leagues. Following his announcement of departure from Etihad, the midfielder was asked to share his plan for the future and whether he will continue in England.

De Bruyne told Viaplay (comments via TribalFootball) that he wants to continue playing and has not made a decision yet about where he will be after Man City.

“Whatever project is available, I’m willing to listen. I love football. I love to play football and if a a nice projects comes, and my family is good with that then we are able to make a decision. I don’t know. It could be not. It’s very hard because the decision of leaving is not been long so nothing can be decided in a week.”

“In the football world I don’t think everything comes in a week. It goes very slowly,” concluded De Bruyne. While he might not have made a decision, it seems De Bruyne already has a suitor who is ready to make an offer.
