Chicago Blackhawks heavily linked to two-time champion head coach

The Blackhawks’ season has been over for less than one day and fans throughout social media are already speculating on who their next head man will be.

One name, Denver University’s head coach David Carle, has risen above all others in Chicago fan circles.

Analyst Frank Seravalli revealed on Chicago Sports Network late Tuesday night that David Carle is at the top of the team’s list of candidates.

“The Hawks have had about 5 months to put their list together and there’s one name at the very top that’s been circled…David Carle,” Servalli said.

Carle has had tremendous success at all levels he’s coached at, winning two National Championships, and while also coaching Team USA to World Junior gold medals.

But he’s also been picky about where he might want to end up if he were to leave DU, turning down multiple other NHL offers in the past.

The idea, is that Chicago’s young core of Connor Bedard, Frank Nazar and Sam Rinzel might convince Carle to leave.

Elliotte Friedman of SportsNet has offered some other more conflicting reports of Carle in the past — “He is not going (to the NHL) unless it’s a good situation, both financially & ‘path to victory-wise.’ …He’s not going to go anywhere where he doesn’t see, even if it’s a rebuild, the kinds of players that have a path to victory.”

Chicago was the second-worst team in the league this season. Picking their future head man will be key to the team’s future aspirations.
