ESPN’s Brian Windhorst isn’t afraid to speak his mind.
The Toronto Raptors’ Brandon Ingram is the latest to learn about the occasionally sharp tongue of Windhorst.
Speaking on ESPN’s The Hoop Collective podcast, Windhorst called out Ingram’s absence due to an ankle injury.
“Brandon Ingram has the worst sprained ankle in the history of sprained ankles,” Windhorst said. “He hasn’t played in months.”

Ingram actually hasn’t even made his Raptors debut since being traded there before the NBA’s Trade Deadline.
The last time Ingram took the floor was Dec. 7 for the New Orleans Pelicans, more than three months ago.
Windhorst’s implication isn’t actually that Ingram has wobbly ankles. It’s that the Raptors are glad to tank, just as a few of the NBA’s most bottom-dwelling teams are.
The reason is obvious: Cooper Flagg, the Duke freshman phenom who is viewed as a generational talent and the obvious No. 1 pick in this summer’s draft.
Ingram will still be in Toronto to play with whoever they draft, ideally for the Raptors with slightly healthier ankles. They signed him to a three-year, $120 million extension after adding him in the trade.
