Seahawks draft picks 2025: Here’s a look at Seattle’s stockpile after DK Metcalf, Geno Smith trades

The Seahawks finished the 2024 season with a 10-7 record in second place in the NFC West. Seattle decided to undergo a major face lift this offseason and traded away quarterback Geno Smith and wide receiver DK Metcalf.

These trades, along with releasing veteran WR Tyler Lockett, signify a new era in Seattle. The Seahawks are turning its focus to getting younger on offense, and that puts pressure on the franchise to hit on its draft picks. Thankfully, the moves for Smith and Metcalf brought back some extra assets to help them address their team needs.

Before its roster reconstruction, the Seahawks’ biggest team needs included offensive guard, quarterback, linebacker, defensive tackle and offensive tackle. Seattle had 34-year-old Smith on the roster but traded him. That leaves 24-year-old Sam Howell on the roster as the main quarterback. The Seahawks are expected to bring in another quarterback in free agency as well as potentially a rookie in the draft to increase the competition at the position.

Now that Seattle traded away Metcalf to Pittsburgh, it has three wide receivers left on the roster. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jake Bobo and Dareke Young. While JSN is a sold player, the Seahawks now have a glaring draft need at WR.

Here are the Seahawks’ 2025 NFL draft picks after the Smith and Metcalf deals.

If Seattle stays at 18, there will be 17 picks ahead of them on draft night. That means there’s are a variety of outcomes and the draft board can look vastly different than we think. There are only two quarterbacks who should be selected in the first round, and they are both expected to be off the board by the time the Seahawks are on the clock. Seattle could go with an offensive lineman here, like, Alabama interior offensive lineman Tyler Booker, but with the latest deal, wide receiver is a glaring need.

The Seahawks could find a wide receiver replacement instantly with Egbuka. He played with Smith-Njigba at Ohio State in 2021 and 2022. Egbuka finished his final season with the Buckeyes with 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. He should be able to start in Week 1 and will be a reliable target for whoever the team decides to roll out under center.
