There are not many better rivalries than the Celtics vs. Lakers. The two most storied NBA franchises go head-to-head twice each regular season, and it’s a treat each time.
Both teams are some of the top teams in their respective conference, so it makes the matchup even more enticing. Boston has had a hold on the second seed for quite a bit, while the Lakers recently surged up the standings following the Luka Doncic trade.
Boston still has the upper hand after winning its 18th NBA title last season. The Lakers have 17, last winning in 2020. LeBron James remains from that 2020 championship team, but much of the roster has changed. Doncic is the most notable player to join forces with James in Los Angeles.
The Lakers won the first round 117-96, but this was when Anthony Davis was on the team. The roster looks different now, and it seems to have benefitted the Lakers up to this point.
